In cooperation with LEGO and other cool partners Google is launching Google Science Fair:

Google is looking for the brightest, best young scientists from around the world to submit interesting, creative projects that are relevant to the world today.

The judging panel features some very prominent people from all areas of science like:

Vint Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist, Google
Rolf-Dieter Heuer, Director General of CERN

A lot of impressive and very creative hacks have been flooding the blogs since the launch of Microsoft Kinect, but as stated in this article by Harvard Business Review “…what matters is that Microsoft has now publicly embraced the hackers — and that’s an instance of a broad and profound change in corporate innovation”

Truly inspiring new approach to innovation from Microsoft which might lead new and unexpected business. “It could even be that, in Kinect and its offshoots, Microsoft will find its next big business.”
