KOMPAN: Playfull Innovation
IDENTIFYING NEW BUSINESS AREAS
Cooperation with playground producer KOMPAN.
The task was to assist KOMPAN in the process of identifying new potential business areas. This was done through a combination of research, concept development and business planning.
Playfulness was a central element in this project. Research, graphics, concept development and the final presentation – everything evolved around the concept of Playful Innovation.
A set of methods
The result of the project was a set of methods for KOMPAN to help structuring and optimizing the concept development and selection.
A new product platform
Furthermore the project suggested a new product platform; KOMPAN PlayPods. The concept evolved around a vision of encouraging school children to become more physically active.
Working with the values of KOMPAN generated 14 chosen concepts, that were presented to KOMPAN Product Development and Marketing division.
The concepts were evaluated by a Balloon Flight Method, that was created during the project.
Three concepts: Move@school, KOMPAN Family and Urban Playscape were chosen for further development.
The concept Move@school was expressed with the design of PlayPods.
The above shown Balance Board and Dance@school were two out of a series of PlayPods suggested to KOMPAN. PlayPods should be a new product platform in connection with Move@school.
The project output was a series of methods for KOMPAN, expressed in KOMPAN Playful Kick-Off Game.
Also 14 new concepts for new products, services and communication platforms for the future were presented to KOMPAN.
The project output was presented as a future edition of Børsen.
